About Brenda Spargo
Photography is – “One Moment in Time”
I became keen on photography at a young age when I obtained my first camera – a Kodak Brownie 127. When I used to send my films away to be developed, every time, on return, included was a booklet entitled “How To Take Better Photos”.
I didn’t lose heart, I persevered when many would have given up! Then surprisingly I won a photography competition in the local paper which encouraged me.
My passion is photography, always taking my camera with me when I go out walking and I love capturing that one moment in time. I don’t have a favourite subject, if something captures my attention I take it. I love the varying landscapes and the beauty of the nature that surrounds us, and I enjoy sharing my images on social media for friends and family and for those who are not able to get out and enjoy it as I do.
I use a Nikon D7200 and I have a variety of lenses but I find that the kit lens, the 18-140mm is very versatile and my “go to” lens for my walks, in particular for landscapes. I like my zoom 300mm lens which is not too heavy and good for sports, birds and nature when I can’t get too close. My macro 105mm lens is for garden photography of bees, insects and flowers.
I am lucky to live in Buckinghamshire between London, Oxford, and the beautiful Chiltern Hills.
My biggest challenge is when I go walking with my husband, he is frequently far ahead of me whilst I am on the ground trying to take the perfect shot.
The next big challenge is getting up again.
